Our Under 8, 9 and 10 (boys and girls) teams are having a great time learning the craft and building great friendships. Their Lightning Premierships are scheduled for a few weeks time, and in this post we assess the state of play for all the Beena teams positioning themselves for their tilts at the finals.

Under 11 Mixed Division 4

The round 10 win against St Bedes/Mentone Tigers was a big one for Rick Jackson’s boys, as it kept them in fifth place on the ladder within striking distance of a finals birth. In what looks to be a very even competition, only two games separate 1st from 5th, it will be a big last five games for these boys with a finals appearance in the offering!

Under 12 Girls Division 4

These girls are sitting pretty on top of the ladder, with 5 wins and one loss, and a healthy percentage of 263! If Westy keeps them performing like this, we should see them playing deep into August – Keep it going girls!

Under 12 Mixed Division 2

A round 10 loss to 4th placed Brighton Beach wasn’t ideal for Scotty Fleming’s boys, though they are still very well placed at 2nd on the ladder in a very competitive division. A couple more wins will secure a finals birth for these boys, though they certainly have the talent to go deep into August. Keep it going boys!

Under 12 Mixed Division 4

Crommo’s boys’ first loss of the season came against their local rivals in Oakleigh, a result that has set the scene for a mouth watering rematch come finals time. These boys also have the talent to not only make the finals but have a very big say in the result!

Under 13 Mixed Division 4

Murrumbeena has two teams in this division, with the Hunter team leading the way sitting on top of the ladder after accounting for Highett in round 9. In what was a double dose for the previously undefeated Highett in Round 10, our Kruse team also accounted for them to keep their finals hopes alive.

Under 14 Mixed Division 3

A final birth beckons for these boys as they currently sit in third place in this division. I reckon one more win will do the trick but they’ll be trying to finish as high as possible to position themselves for August glory. Keegan Hillemacher doing a brilliant job in his first year of coaching!

Under 14 Mixed Division 5

Team Anstee have snuck into the top 4 after impressive back to back wins in rounds 9 and 10, including a stunning win over second placed Mordi-Braeside. Let’s keep it going boys to secure your finals birth over the next few weeks!

Under 14 Girls Division 4

Becc’s girls are leading the way with just the one loss so far and a healthy percentage of 443%. Most impressive is the fact their frugal defence has conceded only 64 points over 6 games. What a great start to the year, keep it up girls!

Under 15 Boys Division 2

After a challenging 2018, Jordy Brasher has the band back together, and has his team performing admirably in a very strong division 2 competition. A couple of wins to close out the season could see a finals appearance, and from there as we know, anything can happen!

Under 16 Boys Division 3

After a heartbreaking Grand Final loss in 2018, Pickering’s boys have stepped up a grade this year and are currently sitting in 4th position on the ladder, with their eyes on a finals spot and possibly redemption from last year.

Under 17 Boys Division 2

After a resounding 82 point win to start the season proper in round 5, Evan’s boys have battled hard and if a couple of close games had have gone their way they would be eyeing off a finals birth. Nonetheless, with 5 games to go in these boys careers with Murrumbeena Junior Football Club, they will be playing their hearts out to eek out another win or two before the season ends.
