After four games into the season proper, we are starting to see how each of our teams are shaping up in their respective divisions.
MJFC Under 11 Lions
Round 7 – defeated by East Brighton Vampires by 10 points
Round 8 – defeated by Hampton Rovers by 40 points
After having faced a couple of strong opponents the last two weeks, the next two matches for this team against fellow finals aspirants will define their season.

MJFC Under 11 Griffins
Round 7 – defeated by East Brighton by 76 points
Round 8 – defeated by Bentleigh by 4 points
After being trounced by a team that would be competitive in Division One, this team responded well in flying home with a wet sail to fall agonisingly short against another of the better drilled teams in their division.

MJFC Under 12 Lionesses
Round 7 – defeated Brighton Beach by 36 points
Round 8 – defeated Prahran by 1 point
Four games in and the girls find themselves undefeated and second on the ladder. Sensational football girls!

MJFC Under 12 Griffins
Round 7 – defeated Murrumbeena Lions by 4 points
Round 8 – defeated Highett by 30 points
The only undefeated team in their division, this group of boys sit atop the ladder and are playing some very good football. The Round 7 Intraclub match was a highlight – a see-sawing battle played in great spirits where less than a kick determined the winner! Keep it going boys!

Round 7 – defeated by Murrumbeena Griffins by 4 points
Round 8 – defeated Beaumaris by 7 points
It was great to see this team notch up their first win in this division on the weekend – they have had close losses to the top 3 teams on the ladder, and can start their charge towards the finals with some big wins over the next few weeks!

MJFC Under 13 Griffins (Div. 2)
Round 7 – defeated St Kilda City by 22 points
Round 8 – defeated Brighton Beach by 6 points
After somewhat of a reality check for their first game in Division 2, these boys have responded beautifully by winning their next two games to be sitting 3rd on the ladder. Massive game coming up against fellow finals contender St Peters in round 9!

Round 7 – defeated St Kilda City by 3 points
Round 8 – defeated by Ajax by 37 points
This team had a fantastic win in round 7 to notch their first win of the season proper, and remain a finals challenger if we get the improvement we expect to see from these boys over the remainder of the season.

Round 7 – defeated by Port/South Melbourne by 88 points
Round 8 – defeated by St Pauls McKinnon by 69 points
The season hasn’t gotten any easier for these boys, but they keep turning up with smiles on their faces!

MJFC Under 15 Lions (Div 3)
Round 7 – drew with East Brighton Vampires
Round 8 – drew with East Sandringham
The above results are not typos; amazingly this team has drawn their past two matches in what appears to be an amazingly even competition. Currently sitting second with a finals berth beckoning!

Round 7 – defeated by Beaumaris by 117 points
Round 8 – defeated by Mordialloc Braeside by 66 points
Tough character building year so far for these boys.

MJFC Under 17 Lions (Div 2)
Round 7 – defeated by Bentleigh by 56 points
Round 8 – defeated Caulfield Bears by 51 points
A crushing win in the local derby against co-finals aspirants Caulfield sees these boys well placed in third place on the ladder, in what appears to be a very evenly matched division.

With regard to our seven modified rules teams (Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10, including our new U10 Girls team), scores cannot be published, though we can all rest assured much enjoyment is being had by the players, coaches and parents alike!
