Our Club

Our CLUB

Murrumbeena Junior Football Club (or more commonly referred to as the MJFC, Beena Lionesses or Beena Lions) was established in 1996 and is located at 37 Kangaroo Road in Murrumbeena.  Our sports ground consists of two ovals and a new pavilion built in late 2022, and is affectionately known as 'Beena Arena'.

As of 2024, the MJFC includes over 300 children and over 600 parents and volunteers.  We proudly share Beena Arena with the Senior Football Netball Club, the Junior and Senior Cricket Club, as well as the Murumbeena Auskick program.

We have 4 girls' teams, 8 mixed teams, and 5 boys' teams which collectively represent every age category from Under 8's to Under 17.5's.  We are part of the Southern Metropolitan Junior Football League which has 25 clubs in total.

The MJFC is a community-based not-for-profit organisation, proudly providing an opportunity for the kids in our local area to participate in the great indigenous sport of Australian Football Rules.

Our Commitment

Whilst winning is enjoyable and important in sport, the MJFC is committed to providing a safe and well-resourced environment to ensure a 'Best Experience' for every player, volunteer, extended family member, and spectator alike.

Our Values

The MJFC will at all times endeavour to provide for the health, welfare and well-being of its players, supporters and spectators.  We have a strong sense of community as well as respecting our officials, opposition players and supporters at all times.

Our values are built around 3 key pillars:

Show Respect

  • to the opposition

  • to all volunteers

  • to all kids, parents, and spectators

GIVE SUPPORT

  •  to your child and any other child needing help

  •  to your team and the opposition

  •  to the club

BE YOURSELF

  •  we love diversity

  •  we embrace inclusivity

  •  we just want you to enjoy your time at the club...be you!

Our Conduct

All MJFC players, committee members, coaches, team managers, trainers, umpires, other volunteers, parents and supporters have a responsibility at all times when representing the Murrumbeena Junior Football Club, to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner consistent with the values above.

Our committee is in constant engagement with the SMJFL, other clubs and 3rd party advisors to ensure we are sharing 'best practice' ideas to provide the best experience for both players and parents.
